Senior Manager, Leasing Counsel

This position is based at either our Santa Monica Corporate location, our Phoenix Corporate location, or our FlatIron Crossing location. If the position is based at Phoenix or FlatIron, regular travel to Santa Monica Corporate will be required.

Position Description:

 The Senior Manager prepares drafts and negotiates commercial lease agreements, brokerage agreements and ancillary lease agreements and reviews LOIs.  The successful candidate will have extensive contact with in-house Leasing Managers, Property Managers, Construction Managers, Development Managers and other personnel, as well as with tenants and their brokers, legal counsel and other representatives.  In addition, the position will require the drafting of various license agreements, service contracts, vendor agreements, and other business-related agreements across multiple disciplines.

Essential Job Functions:
•Prepare, draft and negotiate commercial lease agreements, brokerage agreements and ancillary agreements and review LOIs.
•Manage the flow of all such documentation from inception to execution and distribution. 
•Ensure information in Retail Manager is updated and accurate per standard procedures.
•Review and provide legal analysis of shopping center documents, including leases, operating agreements and other contracts. 
•All other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:
•Law degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
•Admitted to practice law, preferably in California.
•Must satisfy Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements to maintain active license to practice law.
•Minimum 3+ years’ relevant experience with a background in commercial real estate law, including lease drafting and negotiation, commercial contracts and corporate law.  Law Firm Experience preferred.  
•Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
