The Legal Leasing Paralegal is responsible for assisting the legal leasing department with legal work for the company that arises in connection with inline leasing transactions and other real estate matters. He/She will also be responsible for maintaining all Legal Leasing database of forms, formbook language and other information. In order to achieve this, the candidate will have extensive contact with in-house legal counsel, outside counsel, legal leasing leaders, property managers and other personnel.
Essential Job Functions:
•Prepare, draft and negotiate lease amendments.
•Manage the flow of all such documentation from inception to execution and distribution.
•Manage and coordinate transmittal of deal information to third party outside counsel when they are assigned new deals and copies of existing documents to all outside counsel as necessary
•Work with third party outside counsel to ensure CRM/Yardi is updated with deal status and that deal points accurately reflect the executed documentation.
•Maintain, collect and update iManage and CRM/Yardi database with accurate information that is necessary to create documentation from CRM/Yardi for all properties (including Landlord lease form, Landlord entity, signature blocks, Center Hours, Notice Addresses, Property Names, City State and County, radius, cotenancy, development/redevelopment, Center Riders and site/space plans)
•Manage document organization and storage in iManage
•Update documents in iManage per direction from VP or SVP, including lease forms and form book language
•All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved school or equivalent in-house experience.
•3+ years’ experience as a Paralegal preferably in retail leasing
•Experience in lease administration systems and database maintenance.
•Knowledge of Word, CRM, Yardi, Excel and iManage.
