2017 Philly Fashion Week
On February 25, 2017, Fashion Outlets Philadelphia hosted the newest addition to this year’s Philly Fashion Week lineup, Fashion Through the Ages. The event generated new community awareness around the Fashion Outlets Philadelphia project and welcomed 150 attendees, including over a dozen fashion bloggers and other voices in fashion and retail. Additionally, "Fashion Through the Ages" received 50+ social media mentions and over 1.2 million media impressions. The event fostered and leveraged partnerships with Century 21, Tiffany's Bakery, Philly Fashion Week, PAPER Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Essentia Water, Drexel University, and more.
Held at Century 21 Department Store, models strolled the runway and showcased what Philadelphia's own celebrities and icons, such as Ben Franklin and Grace Kelly, would be wearing today based on their fashion sensibilities at the time. Guests then enjoyed an expert panel discussion and interactive Q&A about the evolution of fashion and retail in Philadelphia. Hosted by Philadelphia Inquirer fashion columnist Elizabeth Wellington, the panel featured Fern Mallis, Creator of Fashion Week; Clare Sauro, Drexel University Fashion Historian; Mickey Boardman, Editorial director and advice columnist for Paper Magazine; and Heather Crowell, SVP, PREIT and Communications Lead for Fashion Outlets Philadelphia.
